National Coming Out Day
October 11th is National Coming Out Day. This day was made to celebrate coming out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, pansexual or queer (LGBTQ.)
Thirty-one years ago, on the anniversary of the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, National Coming Out Day was first observed as a reminder that one of our most basic tools is the power of coming out.
For more on coming out, visit HRC’s Coming Out Center.
But please remember, it is everyone’s personal choice to come out when they are ready and when it is safe for them to do so. Hopefully, one day there will not even have to be a “coming out.” Hopefully, one day no one will care about another’s sexuality and everyone can just naturally be who they are with no fears or repercussions.
Love to all our LGBTQ friends! ♥
