    On November 8th we honor John Duns Scotus, a Scottish Catholic priest and Franciscan friar, university professor, philosopher, and theologian. He passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 1308. He was considered one of the most important philosopher-theologians of Western Europe. He also invented the “Duns Cap” which was meant to funnel knowledge into children’s heads in class.

  • X-ray Day
    On November 8, 1895, W.C. Röntgen discovered a new type of ray. Weeks later he went public with his discovery of X-rays  after seven weeks of work during which he had studied the properties of this new type of radiation able to go through screens of notable thickness.
